I have tried several times to locate the club observatory using the map on the webpage but have not had any success. Frown

Too many turnoffs not included, curves don't seem to match and I always seem to wind up on the wrong road. Eek!

Has anyone used the TerraServer maps or mapQuest to plot or print an exact location? The names of the roads might be their popular names but the route doesn't match any topo map I've looked at. I seem to work everytime AOAS has a meeting (don't get off until 7:30pm) and have not been able to attend, so I can't get personal instructions. TerraServer even has aerial photos but I'm not sure what I am looking for! If I could get a lat/long, I could look it up that way. Confused

WHOA, FRED! That's one thing we try to make clear to people who download the map. Do Not Look At The Way The Road Looks; FOLLOW THE PRINTED DIRECTIONS, they are right on the money. Every turn into here is a left. Once you're on Wildwood Rd, the road curves to the right but you stay on Wildwood.

The pictures of the current construction have not been posted. I'm afraid there's not much to see here as of yet. If you'll let me know a day in advance when you're coming, I'll wheel out my 12.5 f / 7 to observe if you'd like. The property is open to anyone who wants to use it as a reasonably dark site for observing.

Let me know when you'd like to visit.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Bob

I guess I am a visual kind of guy! I went to TerraServer and input the address and got maps back that appear to be close to what the directions describe. I'll private email them to you for your inspection, they aren't too big.

I'll e-mail you some new maps privately & describe directions.

Your maps don't appear to give you any indication which turns to take, etc.

If you still have problems after that, perhaps you can follow me up there some time - I'm going up next saturday afternoon/evening, I expect - Bob and I have discussed just such a sojurn yesterday.
