The famous radio telescope situated on the island of Puerto Rico has taken damages from at LEAST two major hurricanes in the last couple months. The National Science Foundation also has been considering shutting down the facility due to funding cuts for a few years as well. Search for articles about it on the web, and my own search yielded this article: https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/23/hurricane-maria-damages-arecibo-radio-telescope/ I hope this link works...

Smile Aricebo Observatory has been restored and is once again online! Check Space.com for the recent radar images of 3200 Phaethon, thought to be the source for the yearly Geminid Meteor Shower every 13th and 14th of December. In my humble opinion we're lucky that no more damage was done when the summer hurricanes struck the Caribbean Island chain which includes Puerto Rico.
