Subject: Publisher Seeking Pics of Coleman Observatory

Hello everyone.

I've been in contact with Jennifer Lim who works for a Canadian publisher and wants to use some pictures of Coleman Observatory for a 6th Grade book. My images are not high enough in resolution, and she has asked me to post the following message to everyone via the Discussion Forum. I hope someone has something she can use and I urge everyone to comply if you think you do have acceptable images or pics.

Hello,

I represent Pronk&Associates, a design studio in Toronto, Canada. We are
currently seeking images for possible publication on a Grade 6 Science
textbook by publisher Scott, Foresman, & Co.

Specifically, I am seeking publication-ready/high-resolution photographs of
the Coleman Observatory.

Please submit any high-resolution images (300 dpi, 5x7) via email:
JenniferL@pronk.com. If your images are not currently scanned, we will
accept original materials such as prints, negatives or slides to be scanned
in-house. A UPS account# will be supplied, and your items will be taken care
of and returned promptly.

Note that we will provide remuneration as well as proper credit in the
textbook.

Just to keep everyone up-to-speed about this topic, and I guess to also throw out my chest with pride a little bit, a professional photographer named Fred Hight from Dallas,TX stopped by the observatory Monday afternoon and took two rolls of film in pictures of the main building and CETUS. I expect copies of his images any day and will write a short article about this whole effort by Jennifer Lim and the design firm and publisher that want these images. I'm very proud that this has happened for us, though I'm still a little surprised by it. We've come so far in the last three years, and since we moved from the old mountaintop down south in 1993. I hope everyone shares in my pride with me.
