The Arkansas/Oklahoma Astronomical Society has scheduled following Solar Eclipse events for the month of August:

Solar Eclipse Presentations:
Huckabee Nature Center - Friday, Aug. 11th at 1:00pm - Main Classroom
Mountainburg Public Library - Thursday, Aug. 17th at 10:00am
Mulberry Public Library - Saturday, Aug. 19th at 11:00am

This event will be a lecture and Power Point Presentation in a classroom setting. Topics descussed will be "What is an Eclipse - Solar/ Lunar Eclipses", "The August 21st Solar Eclipse", "Where to View the Eclipse", "Lake Fort Smith Solar Eclipse Watch Party" and "Solar Eclipse Viewing Safety".

Lake Fort Smith Solar Eclipse Watch Party:

Weather permitting, AOAS will host a Eclipse Watch Party on Monday, August 21st, from 11:00am till 3:00pm, at the Lake Fort Smith Visitor's Center.

The eclipse will start (1st Contact) at approximently 11:48am. Maximum solar coverage (90%) will occur at approximently 1:07pm. The eclipse will end at approximently 2:40pm.

I will have a couple of telescopes with solar filters to view the eclipse.

If anyone has a telescope WITH A SOLAR FILTER please bring it.

Everybody is invited to all events.
