Photos released today by NASA show the Apollo LEM landing stages sitting on the moon's surface.

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/LRO/multimedia/lroimages/apollosites.html

In one photo, you can actually see where the astronauts disturbed the dust when they were walking about.

LRO web site says these are just preliminary photos. When LRO reaches its planned orbit, the details will be two to three times better than the current photos.

Wonder what the conspiracy folks will do now, claim the photos are doctored?

Either that or they'll complian because they can't see the Amazon Women on the Moon. Big Grin

Fox News web site headline tonight says: Is the U.S. Flag From Apollo 11 Still Standing?. Beth O'Leary in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces seems to think that these new shots will allow us to "see the flag on the moon". I think I'm gonna wait and see. Rolling Eyes

Hi, guys!!!

I told you they'd be visible, at least the descent stages that I mentioned in my article, but also, I think we'll see the Lunar Rovers at stations 15, 16 and 17. As to the flags, I have NO DOUBT that they'll be visible in the later images.

And I'm going to make a prediction here. This is purely based on what I remember of WHERE the flag was erected near the descent stage on Apollo 11. The blast of the ascent stage engine MAY have blown the flag over at the Apollo 11 site, because I think they set it up too close to the descent stage. This may be true at other sites if they didn't start setting the flag up farther away after the first one or two erection sites for the American flags. That ascent stage really sent out a blast and we'll have to see if maybe one or more of the flags that were set up might not now be laying flat on the surface of the Moon. It'll be interesting to watch and see.
