Hello to all our friends at AOAS. I wanted to just let you all know that this Saturday, November 1st, the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society (C.A.A.S.) membership and members of your IDA-Arkansas Section will be hosting an Arkansas Times Magazine writer and photographer at the CAAS club property for an interview regarding light-pollution and its effects on the economy and enviornment. The article they are working on is expected to be the cover story for the November 27th issue of the Times.

I wish to apologize to the AOAS and RRAC club memberships for holding this event on a date that conflicts with your own club events. Please
know that this was not our intention but we were on a very short timeline and had no choice but to get this done now. We needed to clearly demonstrate to the Times the effects of light-pollution on our night sky before the Moon cycle became a hinderance to showing these effects.
Also, the Times' own deadlines made this date necessary for the interview time.

We at C.A.A.S. look forward to participating in many more multi-club events in the future that will allow all our clubs to come together for the great
comraderie and fun observing times that are always enjoyed every time we do this.
