Well, it's that time of year again!

The 23rd annual AOAS December Meeting and Christmas Dinner party is coming up soon! The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM on December 5th, and is to be held in the West side of The Pavilion at Harry E. Kelly Park at the junction of North "A" street and Clayton Expressway in Fort Smith.

Everyone is invited, and you DON'T have to bring a side dish to attend. We are looking at an exciting year ahead for the club in 2009, as well as participating in the International Year of Astronomy celebrations. We will be doing some planning at this years' meeting, as well as electing our club officers for next year. This is your chance as a member to make your voice heard.

Traditionally, the club will provide the meat dish and club members then bring their various favorite side dishes to round out the meal. As always, we like to have people indicate what dish they are bringing so that we can make sure to round out the offerings. We began a preliminary list of volunteers who will bring side dishes at our November meeting. These are listed below.

Turkey ..................................... Leonard Lynch (Leonard will prepare the turkey)
Coconut Cake ......................... Gayla Lynch
Pumpkin Pie ............................ Dale Hall
Mincemeat Pie ......................... Dale Hall
Fruit Salad ............................... Dave & Lora Grosvold
Broccoli Casserole ................... Dave & Lora Grosvold
Sweet Potato Casserole ........... Chuck & Loretta Larson
Sweet Corn ............................... Chuck & Loretta Larson
Green Bean Casserole ............. Mike & Barbara Baker
Cranberry Sauce ...................... Mike & Barbara Baker
Dressing and dessert.................Linda Miller

We still need:

Sodas/Beverages
Additional Desserts
Rolls / Butter
Large Paper Plates
Small Paper Plates
Cups
Flatware
Napkins

So please consider adding your name to the list.

We're looking forward ot having a great time and good fellowship!

I'd be happy to supply the drinks, plastic utensils, plates and cups and ice. It'll be the usual.....Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Coke, Mt Dew, Root Beer, Orange, 7 Up and a gallon of Lipton Tea (store-bought) I'll cover enough for 100, just in case we have a really good turn-out.

You can count me in for some no-bake cookies and depending on how much time I have, maybe some type of potatoes.

All -

Looks like there are a few items no one's committed to. I'll bring the dinner rolls. Any of you who haven't committed to anything yet - care to bring dessert? See you all tonight!
