These look like they'll be very cool for anyone interested in astroimaging. These guys are cool enough to make me think about going back to a CAT! http://www.celestron.com/c3/category.php?CatID=94

It's my understanding that they've put a second lens (a coma corrector) in the baffle tube to flatten the image field, That's why they needed the vents - the entire scope would be completely closed otherwise.

I AM IMPRESSED ! ! ! These would surely be outstanding optical telescopes as well as astroimaging systems.

These look like they're a whole new type of optical system in a sense. Whatever it would take, these new OTA's and the new CGE Pro series mounts are what today's up-and-coming astronomers will need in order to stay at the cutting edge of amateur astronomy for the next decade, maybe more. Watch out MEADE!

Click on the link Dave provides above (if you haven't already) to view a video of these new OTA's. Really COOL STUFF!

I might point out that the EdgeHD line 8", 9.25" and 11" are also available with the CGEM mount for a lot less moolah! Cool
