Did anyone notice the Space Station trailing the Shuttle last night at about 2115? What an awesome site! They both passed from the NNW to the SSE, slightly above the moon. It reminded me of the story of Bob Moody and Leonard Lynch with a DOB & Space Station with one at the eyepiece and the other directing the movements of the scope to keep the station in view.
Regards,
Mike Eek!

Well SHOOT! I missed it, Mike.

I've seen them passing overhead in tandem, one lagging a few degrees behind the other following perfectly in line, and to see that really is an awesome sight. Knowing there are at least three people on the station and at least 7 or 8 on a shuttle, we've come a long, long way since I saw the Sputnik passing overhead on a cold, clear night sitting in daddy's rams when I was almost 3. I have managed to not only hang onto that memory but I still remember it so clearly in my mind, uncle Leroy shouting,"HERE IT COMES!" and all of us looking southeast to see one lone star moving towards us among the multitude.

If you or anyone else ever sees something like this happening again, and you happen to see it in time to alert the weather personalities, we need to give the public that opportunity to catch something like that. Its a rare sight.....
