Hey, Just thought I would post a note to say that I rolled the telescope out Saturday night. I wasn't too ambitious so I kept it pretty simple. Ioriginally just wanted to try to snap a few pictures of Saturn before the moon popped up. The Orion nebula also looked spectacular but I did not try any pictures. I have not had much luck taking deep space pictures with my digital camera yet. If any one has I would be interested in the secret. After a hot chocolate break inside to thaw out a little bit, I returned with the moon well on its way up. I decided to experiment with my camera on the moon and took some decent pictures. Jupitor also looked as good as it has in a long while (even with the moon). I took 4 pictures before my battery went dead around 2 am. I will try to post some of my pictures (good and bad) when I get the chance.

Say, Kenny. From what little I've read about shooting deep-sky with a digital, it's tough. Only the brightest are reachable, and even then it's a "shot-in-the-dark" (forgive the pun) on whether you'll get anything or not. If you really want to do electronic photography, you're gonna have to plop down some bucks. For more info, I'd send you to Mike Holloway for his take at tricks46 at aol.com
Looking forward to seeing your pics, though
