Rick Saunders, a member of the "Royal Astronomical Society of Canada London Centre" has posted a really nice comprehensive yet entertaining and easy to follow guide for astro-photography, from equipment, to software, and DIY projects. I think this is a great work. It is a 10MB pdf document so be patient!
