Grabbed the binoculars and returned to the sky last night determined to extract a comet from the night sky. Had same trouble as the night before, so I stepped away from the ambient light of the house to a darker area and like magic a comet appeared. Could see it easily with binoculars and barely without. Not much detail though. I will hit it with the scope tonight. Last night it was located at a 45 degree angle up and to the right of the beehive. The beehive looked pretty good as well.

CONGRATULATIONS, Kenny! I'm sure you'll enjoy the view this evening. I hope you can find it again. In the scope you should see a nearly stellar point of light for the nucleus, and a fairly broad, albeit short tail. Next week you'll start to see T7 LINEAR coming above the western horizon and it should have a better tail, at least I hope it does.
Don't forget to come join us for the public night tomorrow at Carol Ann Cross Park on 74th Street. We'll be arriving about an hour before dark, or about 15 to 30 minutes before sunset.
