AOAS is very proud of our little web site, and one of the reasons for this is that we have always allowed anyone to post or contribute anything relating to the hobby we love. That is until now.

This web site is now locked down so that only registered users can contribute the things that you'd like to say. This came about as a result of unscrupulous individuals posting things like commercial ads and trash comments over the past 2-3 days. Maybe they thought they were being cute, or maybe they thought they could use us to promote something. They didn't succeed this time and won't succeed next time should they try again..

Everyone should be aware that we have the capability to identify anyone who commits these acts. We know who posted these comments and commercial ads. The only thing you've succeeded in doing is having restrictions placed on everyone who now visits our site. You are now blocked and you'll never be allowed to make your petty comments again.

Of course, every member of this club, or anyone officially registered with this site can still submit stories or make the comments and contributions that we hope you WILL continue to make whenever you'd like. All registered visitors are encouraged to contribute stories or make comments on anything you like or dislike about astronomy or our site. You are who we offer this site to, and we appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions. Please keep them coming in, and enjoy this site as you always have.

It is unfortunate that someone would attempt to prostitute our site for their own perverted uses. All this has doe is cause us to tighten security and restrict the ability to contribute to those whoe have a legitimate reason to contribute, and who can offer something of value.
