I finally broke down and purchased a Meade DSI color CCD camera and have been trying to use it.
The learning curve for the software processing is rather steep but is well worth the effort. Some of the photos captured using this device are posted on the web and are visually stunning.
My poor efforts on Jupiter and M-3 have been posted in the photo album here for your inspection.

I like the picture of Jupiter, I think it looks real good. The other one looks decent.

Could have looked better. Globulars are a hard target. Too bright and all detail is lost . Too dim and you don't see anything. I get to where I can wedge mount the telescope and track longer, I'll be able to drop the brightness, increrase the shutter time and they will look even better.
