Oops! How embarrasing it is for folks to still, STILL, be spreading the same rumor, or rather bald faced lie, about Mars about to be as big as the Moon in August. We aren't getting through to folks, I guess. Because its true....I received the same email from the same people who've been keeping it going for the last three years!

THREE YEARS! Have any of them bothered to check with their local television and radio stations about this miracle of the solar system? Have they bothered to look on that date (whatever the date is; it isn't actually mentioned in the bogus email) for Mars to appear as large as the full moon?

It goes to show how gullible the general public can be when it comes to the most basic, simple things pertaining to science.

If you ever receive an email about this, this !!!CRAP!!!, PLEASE TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LET THE SENDER KNOW HOW MUCH PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT THEM FOR TRYING TO SPREAD SUCH NONSENSE!!! I mean really, what is this Mayberry RFD? Is this 2006 or 1806? Watch out....I heard that Martians were landing in New Jersey and were out to take over our planet! HELP! HELP! SAVE US, SAVE US, HELP, PLEASE!!!

I know, I honestly can't believe this crap is still going on. I heard about this when I was in Colorado, it's like, you've got to be kidding me.

Kinda hard to see Mars in late August behind the sun, but I encourage you to try anyway.
